Atlanta Science Festival 2019
SENIC organized three events as part of the 2019 Atlanta Science Festival: Science of Superpowers, Will Nano-Tattoos Make Your Remote Control Obsolete?, and Exploring the Nanoscale. The last was an open house at the Marcus Nanotechnology Building with hands-on activities and looking at materials in a scanning electron microscope.
SENIC’s SUIN students got a VIP tour of Porsche’s Driving Experience Center led by Georgia Tech grad and former MiRC intern Pedro Garcia (ISyE). The students toured Porsche’s Driver’s Selection, Design Center, and Museum. In the museum they saw classic cars dating back to the 1950s. While they did not get to test drive on the track they did see others racing along the outside venue and they did get to step inside some amazing vehicles. Along the way Pedro told them about being an engineer at Porsche.
